Bucket List: Fall Edition

So last week I made a mental fall to-do list and forgot to share it, but I'll have you know that it hasn't stopped me from starting to cross items off said mental list. Which for all of you fellow type-A personality types out there you know I'll be making a list later today just so I can cross these items off.

I digress. Back to the list.

1. Bake something with pumpkin.

All right so this is not your 'typical' pumpkin recipe because it's more a healthy take on chocolate muffins, but there is indeed pumpkin in them, and they are delicious. Thanks, Mrs. Mac!

Three Ingredient Muffins
1 box of dark chocolate cake mix
15 oz can of pumpkin
as many dark chocolate chips your heart so desires

Bake at 350 degrees for 20{ish} minutes-test with a toothpick!

Word to the wise: these muffins will look exactly the same when you take them out as when you put them in so don't feel defeated if some look like craters. They are still delicious.

2. Get outside & enjoy the fresh, crisp air. As often as possible.

I tried to go to an apple orchard with the boy {#3} but go figure, there is an apple shortage so you can't pick your own. However, I will not let this take a toll on the amount of apple crisp I make this fall.

What's on your fall bucket list?

Fall Fever

Waking up to 41 degrees yesterday made it even more official, fall has arrived in Wisconsin, and I could not be happier. But that's about as cold as I would ever like it please and thank you Mother Nature. I have a hunch that this just may be my fall uniform- military jacket, dark denim, & booties.

Last night was spent at happy hour with an old friend from high school and her lovely friend. My favorite part about being out of high school? Reconnecting with great people that you did not necessarily hang out with during school but have found that you have a lot in common. What better occasion to get some mileage out of these TOMS booties?

Fall Forward

Blouse: Ann Taylor {similar}, Denim: Sass & Bide from Edith Hart, Heels: Arden B. {really old}, Bag: Target {old}, Necklace: Spike the Punch, Earrings: Anthropologie, Rings: David Yurman, Kate Spade, Madison Elizabeth Designs, and a DIY, Nail polish: Essie Geranium

Remember when I said that I didn't have any burgundy? Well, turns out I lied. I forgot I had this beauty and when I rediscovered it the other day, I couldn't have been happier. Same goes with these heels.  I want to say that these were the first pair of heels I purchased in high school, okay well ever, and that they have been hiding in my closet.  That will 100% change this fall as I see them as my go-to heels for stomping around the town.

A big-fat-long-overdue THANK YOU to my sister who has been taking my pictures, and my brother because I convinced him to take them one day. That was funny. But seriously, thank you both.

On My Fall Radar

I am in love with the mix of texture and pattern. What are you craving for the fall?

Speaking of love...today, I would like to wish my parents a very Happy 30th Anniversary! I couldn't ask for two greater people to have in my life. We will be celebrating by completing the freshman dorm move-in for my little brother {ah!}.

...and don't forget to head over to the Poshlocket blog today!

Fall is in the Air

On Friday, my aforementioned awesome roomie and I went to an amazing apple orchard.  I truly could not have asked for a better day.  While we couldn't find the McIntosh apples, we settled for Cortland, and if I do say so myself, made a pretty delish Apple Crisp later that night served a la mode. Nom, nom, nom.  Even though we were the only ones besides parents above the age of 4, we managed to have a jolly 'ole time and took home a bag of apples and some apple cider.  Perfection.

Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor teacher away :)

What's on your fall bucket list?  Things I still want/hope to do:

1. Corn maze
2. Haunted House
3. Pumpkin Patch
4. Decorate/carve Pumpkins
