Trend Talk

Loeffer Randall Oxfords // J.Crew Cap Toe Pumps // Pour La Victoire Flats // Topshop Skirt // DVF Shorts
Topshop Shorts // Rebecca Minkoff Clutch // H&M Collar Necklace // Essie Mirror Metallics Collection
I plan on easing my way into this trend and sporting some metallic polish first and foremost. Then I'm fairly confident that I'll be ready to sport some metallic bottoms. I absolutely adore these shorts and skirt-pair them with a basic tee to add some texture to your look! Now, these shoes on the other hand...a tad out of my comfort zone but I mean the J.Crew cap toes? Ahhh-mazing.
So what's the verdict? Will you be sporting metallics this fall?

How gorgeous would the H&M pant look with the Tibi blouse? The perfect mix of print and texture.

On My Fall Radar
I am in love with the mix of texture and pattern. What are you craving for the fall?
Speaking of love...today, I would like to wish my parents a very Happy 30th Anniversary! I couldn't ask for two greater people to have in my life. We will be celebrating by completing the freshman dorm move-in for my little brother {ah!}.

Friday's Fancies::Date Night
Just in case you missed my post over at Studio Swoon awhile back, I thought I would share what I put together with you today for Friday's Fancies since it goes right along with the Date Night theme. Whether you're going out on a first date, an anniversary date, or just a fun night out with the ladies, this is my go-to ensemble.
Blouse: Sleeveless, short sleeve, or long sleeve, you can't go wrong with a beautiful blouse. Tuck it in and pair it with a cute belt or wear it long.
Skinny jeans: black, coral, green, I really don't care the color. Find a pair and color YOU feel comfortable in. This clearly won't be the same for all of us lovely ladies. While I am loving the colored denim trend, I personally stick to black and add color with other pieces in my outfit. Again, that's me. If you love the color, wear it and pair it with black or nude pumps. Or do some color blocking of your own with the jeans + heels.
Accessories: the heels, clutch, and jewelry are your way to show some more of your personality. This is where I like to bring color into my outfits and some statement jewelry.
Make it fun! You should leave the house feeling great and confident! Don't try to make a trend fit you if it doesn't feel right. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: floral pants just aren't happening for me, and I'm 110% okay with that. Don't feel great in bold heels? Then don't wear them! I still adore my black and neutral heels wholeheartedly. Add some color through your blouse instead!
Cheers to each and every one of you, and enjoy your date nights!

Friday's Fancies::April Showers
How do I plan to keep a smile on my face during the upcoming gloomy April showers? I thought you would never ask. You're so thoughtful.
And to answer your question, I will wear bright accessories. Do I have bright necklaces? Yes. Do I have any other bright jewelry? No. The rest is all silver or gold. Timeless yet not nearly as fun as these beauties below:
And to answer your question, I will wear bright accessories. Do I have bright necklaces? Yes. Do I have any other bright jewelry? No. The rest is all silver or gold. Timeless yet not nearly as fun as these beauties below:
Earrings: 1. Bauble Bar Tournesol Studs | 2. Kate Spade Rosewood Dot Stud Earrings | 3. Lauren Hope Studs
Rings: 1. {Kate Spade stack} Signature Spade Mini Cluster Ring, Bar None Ring, Be Mine Mini Heart Ring
As for earrings, the brighter the better. And for the rings, the more the merrier. I am in need of some put a smile on your face because I'm so pretty jewelry. I am headed to NYC on Monday and expecting to find some fabulous pieces. Which leads me to my next point that the no shopping until Easter will be put on hold while I'm in NYC. I hope you understand as I don't know the next time I'll be in NYC and well, frankly, I don't have the will power. Honesty counts for something, right?!
As for my weekend, I'll be heading home tonight for my first official night of Spring Break and getting a munch needed mani/pedi with my mom on Saturday. Sunday will be spent celebrating one of my hilarious Uncle's birthdays with the family and prepping for my trip some more. Let's just say I only know how to over pack.
Any big weekend plans?
Per usual, linking up with {long distance loving}
[Message to Mother Nature: let it be noted that I am by no means hoping for lots of gloomy, rainy days in April especially not on April 22nd as I will have birthday festivities to attend to Love, Carly]

Wishful Wednesday
Somewhere along the way while creating this wish list, I created an outfit. Now, for the summer, I would definitely pair this to-die-for maxi with a white tank top for a great contrast with the baubles, but on a chillier night, the long sleeve floral Topshop piece would be a great addition of pattern and pastel.
Dabney Bib Necklace // Topshop Lily Drape Front Blouse // J.Crew Sardina Wedge Espadrilles // Rebecca Minkoff 'Mac-Mini' Clutch // Zara Maxi
Coral may have recently surpassed mint on my favorite color list. Or it's a tie. I don't know. I just love them both, that's for sure. Don't make me choose.
I am still on the hunt for the perfect casual wedge. Any other suggestions?!

Friday's Fancies::March Madness
Red and white.
They have been my school colors since I was a freshman in high school, and I have loved them ever since. Even during my fifth year at UW-Madison. Besides cheering on my beloved Badgers (if you haven't been to Camp Randall for Jump Around and the 5th Quarter you are really missing out), I love finding the perfect little red dress, LRD if you will. Did you like how I avoided all discussion of last night's basketball game thus far? Today, is focused on a spring/summer appropriate piece. Red + aqua has been one of my favorite combos lately. Add gold into the mix and you have perfection my friends.

Topshop Dip Hem Waist Dress // BaubleBar Gold Bar Bib // BaubleBar Aqua Boho Drops // Banana Republic Sarah Wedge // Melie Bianco Natalie Clutch and Wristlet
So do you love the LRD as much as (or more than) the LBD or what?
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I will be focusing on applying for jobs and catching up on sleep.
PS: I would love to make some bracelets and necklaces and have been searching for the perfect chains, thick and thin. Any suggestions on where to find some?

Friday's Fancies::Red and Pink
It's all about red + pink today on today's Friday's Fancies. Both on trend and appropriate for Valentine's Day.
Zara Plaited Shopper // J. Crew Bubble Necklace // Wedges // Equipment Daddy Contrast Shirt // Topshop Premium Wide Leg Trousers
I have been swooning over these Topshop Trousers for quite some time, and it's time I went public with my love affair.
The floral detail on this Equipment blouse makes me love it even more. I'm not ready for full on floral so this is just the right pop.
If you've been following along on the blog, I have a slight obsession with my tangerine bubble necklace from J. Crew, but today is all about this turquoise beauty. I don't discriminate when it comes to the J. Crew bubble necklace.
This plaited shopper is quite the beauty. Disclaimer: it is much larger in person than it appears on the website, but it does come with a shoulder strap to help you out when you need a break from the top handle.
And last but certainly not least, these DV beauties have such lovely criss-cross detail and add just the height I would need with these trousers. Yes, please.
So to sum things up, this outfit has stolen my heart this Valentine's Day.

Friday's Fancies::Get The Look
Happy Friday all! As I mentioned earlier, I will be taking a break from the series on Fridays so that I can include my FF posts as they are some of my favorite! This week was focused on re-creating an outfit we had found in the blogosphere or Pinterest.
I have had my eyes on this outfit for quite some time. I prepped this post last weekend because I was so excited for the theme, and low and behold Alison posted this outfit inspiration photo on Monday. I absolutely still had to stick with it as it's one of my favorite color combos at the moment.
Things I love: the layering, pop of blue, texture of the bracelets, cashmere + leather, and the dainty, feminine ring.

2. J. Crew Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigan
3. Topshop Twist Fringe Scarf
4. Marc New York Moto Jacket
5. Chloe Round-Frame Sunglasses
6. Michael Kors Watch
7. Sasika Diez Bracelet
8. St. John Collection Skinny Bangles
9. Snake Chain Bracelet

Would you wear this look? Layering sweaters is not something I can say I have done before (usually just a long sleeve + sweater), but I would gladly layer the J. Crew sweaters and add the pop of blue to top off the look.

Thank you all for such amazing feedback about the A-Z Series this week! Glad you're enjoying it as much as I am!

[on a sidenote, if you follow my blog, you'll notice that I deleted
my D post from yesterday morning. Something funky was going on with my
blog, and it wasn't able to post on Facebook or update on some
blogroll lists. That absolutely does not mean I don't love my D favorites: Danielle Moss, Design Darling, and Design Darling {the boutique}. Sorry about that! Thanks so much for understanding!]

Friday's Fancies::Best Foot Forward
This week's Friday's Fancies is focusing on shoes. While I love a good pair of heels since I'm 5'2" and I like to know what it's like to view the world as if I were 5'6", flats are my new friend. Let's get serious, they are much more comfortable and can be just as fun. I have yet to make a purchase from Topshop (I know, I know that's an entirely different issue), but after finding this assortment of flats, I'm ready to go. I was majorly inspired by Lauren at Stylized Existence when she posted some of her Topshop favorites so my bank account thanks you Lauren.
Are you a flats or heels type of girl? Have you made a purchase from Topshop before? Are the flats comfortable?
